Frequently Asked Questions
Helpful answers for wedding couples, adult beginners, and private dance students.
Not at all! Most of my couples have little to no dance experience before their first lesson. My teaching style is supportive, beginner-friendly, and tailored to your comfort level. Whether you've never stepped onto a dance floor before or have some experience, I'll guide you every step of the way and help you feel confident and comfortable dancing together.
The number of lessons depends on your goals, timeline, and comfort level. Many couples feel confident after 4–6 lessons, while others choose additional lessons for more choreography, special touches, or extra practice.
If you're looking for a simple and natural first dance, fewer lessons may be all you need. If you'd like a more polished routine with turns, dips, or personalized choreography, additional lessons may be recommended. During your consultation, we'll discuss your vision and create a plan that's right for you.
Absolutely! It's never too late to improve your confidence on the dance floor. Whether your wedding is several months away or just a few weeks away, I can help you create a comfortable and enjoyable first dance that fits your timeline.
For couples with limited time, I offer focused lessons designed to teach practical movements, improve confidence, and create a dance that feels natural and effortless without adding stress to your wedding planning.
Yes! Every couple is different, which is why I customize lessons based on your personalities, song choice, and comfort level.
Some couples prefer a simple and elegant dance, while others want a fully choreographed routine with special moments, turns, dips, or other personalized elements. Together, we'll create a first dance that feels authentic to you and showcases your unique style as a couple.
Choosing your first dance song should be about more than just the beat—it should be a song that feels meaningful and resonates with both of you as a couple. Whether it's a longtime favourite, a song that tells your story, or simply one that makes you smile, the best choice is one that feels authentic to you.
Don't worry about whether your song is "danceable" enough. With my experience, I can help you learn movements that complement your chosen song and create a dance that feels natural, comfortable, and enjoyable.
Have a few songs in mind but can't decide? No problem! Bring your options to your first lesson, and together we'll listen to them and discuss which one will work best for your vision, comfort level, and dance style.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely and comfortably. There's no need for special dance attire.
For the best preparation, I recommend bringing or wearing the shoes you plan to wear on your wedding day for at least some of your lessons. Practicing in your wedding shoes helps you become familiar with how they feel on the dance floor and allows us to make any necessary adjustments before the big day.
If your wedding attire includes a long dress, train, or other unique elements, we can also discuss ways to practice and prepare for dancing comfortably in your wedding-day outfit.
Cancellation and rescheduling details are shared during booking so expectations are clear before lessons begin.
